Keynote Speaker Presentation

Topic:

Niagara Falls: What the Three Stooges Can Teach Us About Technology

Narrative:

For centuries comedy has been used to address uncomfortable or otherwise troublesome topics. In that vein, we will use a famous burlesque skit performed by one of the most famous comedy acts of the 20th century to explore the issues surrounding how organizations select and use (or misuse) technology. More importantly, in the skit the Three Stooges provide guidelines for a better way to select technology.

Objectives:

To educate the attendees about the challenges and pitfalls of buying and implementing technology, how to identify a company’s technology risk profile, and discover a process that provides a lower risk method to achieve significant value from technology investments.

Outline:

  • What is your company’s technology personality?
  • The most common mistakes in technology acquisitions
  • Is there risk in technology? And how to mitigate it
  • Technology strategy planning
  • Getting value from your technology investment
  • Technology as a portfolio
  • How not to be a stooge
  • Three key take aways
